The Creation of The Atomic Bomb
In 1943 president Franklin D. Roosevelt requested the creation of a weapon that could wipe out an entire city. The project was to be called the Manhattan project. The government gathered its top scientist for work on what would soon be the worlds most dangerous weapon. Roosevelt would not live to see the use of the weapon.

After Roosevelt's death Truman took office near the war's end. Truman had to make the decision on whether or not to drop the bomb on Japan. While other solutions where explored the option to use the bomb was favored instead of an invasion of the Japanese homeland
